You may have noticed a new look for Daikaijuzine. Unfortunately, Daikaijuzine was recently attacked by a spambot, which resulted not only in our submission form being hijacked, but also in our database being corrupted. The good news was that all of our content and stories were left intact; the bad news is that there was no way to rebuild the site without starting over completely from scratch.
So, that’s what we did. Daikaijuzine is running on WordPress instead of XOOPS now, which is much more suited for the sort of thing we’re doing, and which allows us to distribute our content via RSS feeds. We’re still looking at ways to bring back the forums and other features, but for now our top priority was getting all of our content back online.
The downside is that if you had any of our stories bookmarked, those bookmarks are no longer going to work. Everything’s still around, though, and it should be pretty easy to find them.
Thanks for your patience as we recover from this little misadventure. Our next release is due out on September 21, 2007, though getting everything done by then will be a tad on the tricky side at this point.
